Cumbria - Hiking, Yoga, Dipping and Sauna (July 19th-21st 2026 ) £400 (pay £150 initial deposit)

Join us on a 3 day/2 night retreat in beautiful Cumbria. Rest, relax and recharge, as well as getting energetic on our guided hikes. Immerse yourself in nature in one of the most stunning seasons. 

What is included?

• 3 guided walks led by qualified sports coaches, in the fabulous Cumbrian countryside. 2 short walks (approximately 3 - 5 miles) and one longer walk (6 - 9 miles depending on the weather) with a visit to a local cafe and art gallery.
• Two yoga sessions with our expert instructors in the comfort of the private studio at the house, equipment provided.
• An opportunity to experience the brand new garden sauna at the property, along with a cold water outdoor plunge bath. 

The accommodation is in Cautley, a short distance from Sedbergh. A spacious and beautiful house with an amazing garden. 

The bedrooms, each with countryside views, are as follows - 4 twin en suite rooms, 1 double ensuite (for single occupancy) and 2 double rooms, each for single occupancy with a shared bathroom between them.

Thoughtful touches & beautifully decorated throughout - you will feel at home as well as spoilt during your stay.

Meals and other details

We will feed you hearty and healthy evening meals and good breakfasts to fuel you for the days ahead. Special dietary requirements can be catered for - just ask.

The Howgill Fells and surrounding area are a simply beautiful part of Cumbria. Rugged and undisturbed, the scenery on our hikes is stunning. The terrain can be challenging, with hills and rough ground, so a certain level of good fitness is required. You can return to the house to relax by one of the logburning stoves in one of the two lounges. 

The yoga, in the calm and tranquil studio at the house, is split usually into two groups, so that your level of yoga experience can be taken into account and the classes tailored accordingly.

Our adventures are great fun with friends, but we equally welcome solo travellers! We have three rooms that are for sole occupancy or we will gladly pair you with another Pretty Gritty lady in a twin room!

Please note, the large twin en suite rooms incur a sole occupancy charge if you wish to stay in one of these alone. 

Deposit & balance payment

To secure your space on this retreat we require a non refundable £150 deposit. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to the retreat and you will receive a reminder. Once the balance is due and a reminder has been sent, you have 7 days to make this payment. Once the balance has been paid it is non-refundable.

Cancellation by us

If the trip is not able to go ahead in 2025 due to reasons outside of our control, We would move the trip forward by one year to the same dates or as close as possible. If you have already paid the full balance at the time that the trip had to be cancelled, we will return the balance to you. The non-refundable deposit will secure your space on the camp in 2026. Please bear in mind that the initial deposit is non-refundable if you decide to cancel.

Insurance

It is a condition of the trip that you are covered by a medical and personal accident insurance policy that includes cover for sports activities. It is advisable to also check the policy covers you for cancellation, for example if you are unable to join us on the camp due to illness. You will be sent a short questionnaire so you can provide us with your emergency contact details prior to our departure & inform us of any health conditions that may affect your ability to participate in any activities on the camp.
