Laser Treatment

04 11th, 2008 Author: admin

Cosmetic surgeons use lasers to treat various conditions, for instance, reducing wrinkles. They can also be utilised to treat birth marks, which are caused by abnormal blood vessels. The laser, which is used at a minimum intensity over serveral treatments, effectively shrinks these blood vessels, which results in the affected area becoming lighter, and more natural. Laser procedures can sometimes be used to remove tattoos also. Different types of laser can be used, depending on the type of treatment needed, and the surgeon will determine which is the best suited.

After the treatment it is not uncommon for the skin to be red and swollen for three or four days. During this time it is important that the patient use sunscreen in the treated area, to avoid sun exposure, and the surgeon will advise you on antibiotic lotions you will have to use. The results of the treatment will not become obvious until a couple of months after. Cosmetic surgeons are fully trained in the use of laser treatment. Some of them may train through accredited laser home study programs, or NCLE Laser Certifications to gain the skills needed to perform these procedures.

Does being pretty make life easier?

Pretty GrittyFor all we strive towards the ideal of equality in this world that we live and work in, it is a generally accepted fact that people who look pretty in certain situations can have easier lives. The amount of times we’ve all seen women get out of trouble by using their looks against the man who has the power is countless, perhaps some of you reading this have even been that woman. So is it true that beautiful people have easier lives? Does this comedy workshop that is life treat the pretty better than the gritty?
Well I think that to a point it does. I generally care about my appearance anyway. I like looking good, and I make an effort to do so. I moisturise, use face peels and think about what I wear before I go out. People do treat me well, and my world is a very happy one. Enough so that I have considered taking it a step further. I did a cosmetic surgery london internet search the other day to look into having surgery done, and looked through the treatments. Whilst they did all really appeal to me, Read the rest of this entry »

Keeping Skin Healthy in Colder Weather

11 6th, 2007 Author: admin

Now that the weather is changing and the temperatures cooling down, don’t even think about putting away your skincare products!  Just because the sun may be no longer a hazard, the cold can be just as dangerous to how your skin looks as the harmful rays are!

So what steps do you need to take to keep a healthy skin during winter?

The first thing is to remember that your skin dries out in the winter months.  This is because the lipid layer of skin is destroyed by the cold, and the lipid layer is what prevents your skin getting dried out.  So using moisturizer is a major factor in keeping your skin looking great as the temperatures plummet.  Make sure that you apply the moisturizer at least twice a day, but more if you are out and about in the cold air.  The brand of moisturizer you use isn’t important, but you should keep in mind that even though the sun isn’t showing, you should still have one that contains some SPF protection.

Next remember that your skin isn’t just on your face, and that the rest of your body can also end up with dry skin patches unless you take precautions to stop this from happening.  Use moisturizing cleaners in the bath or shower, and always use a good moisturizing cream or lotion after you come out and have dried off completely.

Hands and feet need good protection in the winter, hands because of their immediate exposure to the cold, and feet because of the need to encase them in thick socks and heavy boots.   Keep your hands moisturized with a good quality hand cream throughout the day – pay attention to the cuticle area of your nails also – and make sure to wear gloves to keep your hands warm when you’re outside.  Feet can benefit from a good soak with a spa type product and then having made sure they are 100% dry, particularly between your toes, put a good layer of moisturizer on them and then put a pair of thick socks on – this will both make your feet cozy warm for bed, as well as allowing the moisturizer to work on the skin of your feet as you sleep.

A simple thing you can do is to purchase a lip care product that will moisturize your lips.  Use this throughout the day when they feel a little dry – licking them doesn’t work!   Lips dry out faster than any other part of your body so buy a good quality lip balm, use it regularly, and your lips will remain soft and kissable all through the winter.

So why is there all this haggling over the postal strike?  Is there any point?  Unless the government steps in and finds a way to stop the strike, we’re going to have to at least pay up some form of increase – despite it being more than most other employees on an average salary being offered.   All this nonsense is just allowing the post office workers to have time off, mail to be disrupted and at the end of the day, they’ll get some financial reward for interrupting our lives by holding our mail hostage – and who’ll have to pay for it?  Why the same people who have been punished by the strikers, the general public who buy stamps because you can guarantee that this is where the additional funds will come from.  Despite the ridiculous prices now being quoted for overseas mail, and the slowly but ever increasing postage rates for UK mail, this current strike is going to involve more increases in prices for the products and services the Post Office delivers.

Perhaps it’s time that the Post Office monopoly was seriously looked at so that there’s an alternative the public can use – and then we the people get to say whether or not we think they’re worth more money than they’re currently being paid, because if we don’t, we’ll use the alternative provider!

What are Boils.. how it is caused?

09 25th, 2007 Author: admin

Boil is caused by inflammation of hair follicles, thus results in the localized accumulation of pus or dead tissues. Appearances of red pus filled lumps that are tender, warm and may be painful are the symptoms of boils.

Appearance of a yellow or white point at the center of the lump indicates that the boil is ready to drain the pus. Boils are common on the back, underarms, shoulders, face, lips, thighs, buttocks.

Boils are common in people having diabetes, poor hygiene or malnutrition& immune system disorders.

Boils generally disappears after 4 to 10 days, application of warm water can help in reducing the pain and speeds up the discharge of pus. After the boil is drained, wash the area with a antibacterial soap and get it bandaged.

Taking diet rich in Vitamin A and E also helps in reducing the occurrences of boils.
