Recently I splashed out and bought the Bare escentuals SPF 15 foundation (light). I’ve tried quite a few foundations as I’m prone to breakouts and also have quite dry skin, so it’s tricky finding the right balance. Usually I find that the foundation is either to greasey or it’s formulated for spot prone skin and is therefore too drying which is annoying. I got the bare escentuals foundation a few days ago so to be fair it’s a bit soon to comment on how good it is for my skin or not, but so far so good. It goes on easily and is nice and light, so it’s hard to put too much on which is good. I hate it when people look caked in make up and some foundations I’ve tried in the past were a bit like that even if I put it on in small amounts. I also hate when skin looks so flawless that people on the street start looking like walking advertisments for Botox Manchester. On the other hand I had a couple of spots which the bare escentuals foundation didn’t quite conceal, so it is maybe better for people with really good skin. Or next time I might try a medium light one. Another plus point is that it has no additives or irritants and this is something which really appeals to me as my skin does tend to react to everything and so far my skin hasn’t flared up, which is a bonus! Another good thing is that it has SPF 15 and I’m really fair so that’s something I look for in a foundation. It’s surprising how many foundations don’t have an SPF, as you’d think nowadays it’s universally acknowledged that everyone needs to protect their skin from the sun to prevent ageing as well as to prevent melanoma of course. Anyway, so overall I’d say I’m fairly happy with the product. It’s nice and light, hasn’t irrated my skin, but is a bit expensive and maybe a bit too light for me personally.
