So what steps do you need to take to keep a healthy skin during winter?

The first thing is to remember that your skin dries out in the winter months.  This is because the lipid layer of skin is destroyed by the cold, and the lipid layer is what prevents your skin getting dried out.  So using moisturizer is a major factor in keeping your skin looking great as the temperatures plummet.  Make sure that you apply the moisturizer at least twice a day, but more if you are out and about in the cold air.  The brand of moisturizer you use isn’t important, but you should keep in mind that even though the sun isn’t showing, you should still have one that contains some SPF protection.

Next remember that your skin isn’t just on your face, and that the rest of your body can also end up with dry skin patches unless you take precautions to stop this from happening.  Use moisturizing cleaners in the bath or shower, and always use a good moisturizing cream or lotion after you come out and have dried off completely. 

Hands and feet need good protection in the winter, hands because of their immediate exposure to the cold, and feet because of the need to encase them in thick socks and heavy boots.   Keep your hands moisturized with a good quality hand cream throughout the day – pay attention to the cuticle area of your nails also – and make sure to wear gloves to keep your hands warm when you’re outside.  Feet can benefit from a good soak with a spa type product and then having made sure they are 100% dry, particularly between your toes, put a good layer of moisturizer on them and then put a pair of thick socks on – this will both make your feet cozy warm for bed, as well as allowing the moisturizer to work on the skin of your feet as you sleep.

A simple thing you can do is to purchase a lip care product that will moisturize your lips.  Use this throughout the day when they feel a little dry – licking them doesn’t work!   Lips dry out faster than any other part of your body so buy a good quality lip balm, use it regularly, and your lips will remain soft and kissable all through the winter.

So why is there all this haggling over the postal strike?  Is there any point?  Unless the government steps in and finds a way to stop the strike, we’re going to have to at least pay up some form of increase – despite it being more than most other employees on an average salary being offered.   All this nonsense is just allowing the post office workers to have time off, mail to be disrupted and at the end of the day, they’ll get some financial reward for interrupting our lives by holding our mail hostage – and who’ll have to pay for it?  Why the same people who have been punished by the strikers, the general public who buy stamps because you can guarantee that this is where the additional funds will come from.  Despite the ridiculous prices now being quoted for overseas mail, and the slowly but ever increasing postage rates for UK mail, this current strike is going to involve more increases in prices for the products and services the Post Office delivers. 

Perhaps it’s time that the Post Office monopoly was seriously looked at so that there’s an alternative the public can use – and then we the people get to say whether or not we think they’re worth more money than they’re currently being paid, because if we don’t, we’ll use the alternative provider!

For some reason miss Pinkett Smith is decalring that K Holmes wears the pants in the household and that T Cruise takes a backseat in the relationship. She says:

I for one don't believe her she should've stuck to something more real, like that Katie doesn't get fed out a dog bowl. Suggesting she wears the trousers? She might as well have told us that Katie Holmes is actually a Power Ranger and spends her free time  riding around in giant robots.

In her interview with Nylon magazine, Lindsay Lohan claims she's more famous than Madonna and gets more attention than her from the paparazzi. She says:

"I said the other day, 'I feel like they hound me more than they hound Madonna and she's someone I've always aspired to be like.'"

She also adds that the paparazzi are what's preventing her from getting an Academy Award because they keep distracting her from her work. She says:

"The thing about the press and why they need to leave me the [bleep] alone for a little bit is because I don't want that distraction from my work. I want to get a nomination. I want to win an Oscar. I want to be known for more than, like, going out. For being 'the party girl.' I hate that. I bust my [bleep] when I'm filming, and when I gave time off, yeah, I like to go out and dance."

Lindsay Lohan could never get an ‘Academy award’! It’s just common sense that if you see Lindsay, next to a donkey that’s just sitting there, the Academy Award goes unanimously to the donkey!

Well as he plans his Humpty Dumpty exit from Number 10 (did he fall or was he pushed –out that is), it appears that Blair has broken a promise that could have perhaps saved his party at the next election.  As it is, it now stands as an issue the other parties could pick up and run with. 

The promise in question is about a referendum on EU issues.  Now we’re a democracy right?  Yeah, that’s what I thought too.  But doesn’t it seem to you as if suddenly we’ve lost the right to direct our government?  Doesn’t it suddenly feel as if this government has forgotten that we are a country that is supposed to be based on what the people think?  And isn’t getting public opinion through an open referendum the way of finding out what the majority of people – as in all people, not just those in a carefully chosen demographic – think about what’s happening.  It’s not exactly as if the referendum was going to ask for opinions, all it requires is for people to say “yes” or “no” to putting our foot down and being an EU leader rather than one of the many sheep just blindly following other countries who are creating the policies that the rest sheep will follow or face eviction.  

As long as we kowtow to the EU and not keep a rein on what it’s up to, we will pretty soon find ourselves in the situation of many of our EU peer countries, with an imposed currency whilst ours is phased out.  Come on guys and girls, it’s time to find us a government that doesn’t break promises and has the guts to recreate the UK as the land of potential dreams, rather than the shattered ones we’re currently living with!
