Botox to Help Stroke Victims
05 11th, 2007 Author: admin
A year-long research study has shown that Botox can significantly ease the aftereffects of a stroke, helping victims return to a fully healthy lifestyle.
Up to 58% of all stroke victims suffer from Post-Stroke Spasticity, a condition caused by damage to the central nervous system where the muscles refuse to relax. This uncontrollable tension can be very painful, resulting in cramping, weakness, and restricted movement in the limbs. This can prevent stroke victims from walking, writing, or even eating on their own.
While there are oral medications to help treat Post-Stroke Spasticity, many patients experience extreme side effects while using them, including weakness, confusion, and dizziness.
The use of Botox on Post-Stroke Spasticity has shown positive effects in previous trials, leading Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center to conduct the largest study yet, funded by Allergan, the pharmaceutical company that sells Botox. 279 stroke victims showed a significant reduction in pain and increased muscle control after receiving regular Botox injections. Best of all, the treatment shows no negative side effects.
Botox may soon be helping stroke victims return to a healthy, pain-free, and self-sufficient lifestyle.

04 10th, 2007 Author: adminSeems like it doesn't make how wonderful the scenery you live in is these days, people from everywhere in America are simply taken with Botox injections.
Recently, Fox28 news presents us with an interview of several women from Michiana, Michigan, that have turned to a rather more practical side of cosmetic surgery. It looks like people here really do appreciate the benefits and easiness of getting a face lift with the help of some simple injection. The women that were interviewed all have been on the Botox injection treatment for quite some time now and neither of them experienced any side effects. They are all happy that finally someone thought of a way to let them age with a scent of decency, while still being able to follow a normal life course, without any unnecessary hospital attendance.
Unlike other American doctors coming from more central regions, doctors here in Michiana are confident that Botox doesn’t hold any hidden danger for its users, and they affirm quite loudly it's safe and sound to use it as you as you are watched over constantly during treatment.

Botox- a small sacrifice for a perfect face
03 29th, 2007 Author: adminBotox is one of the most disputed treatments. This treatment has fewer side effects than surgery so many movie stars and singers chose it to make sure they have a perfect face.
What is Botox treatment?
If you chose Botox you will have to know that it means injecting the face muscles with botulinum toxin A which paralyzes them. When the muscles are paralyzed your skin is stretched and no more wrinkles appear. To make sure that you obtain great results you must go to the doctor for an injection every one or two months.
Although this treatment is cheap, safe and sometimes an alternative to surgery, specialists say that it can cause new wrinkles. Their argument is that our face tries to recreate the expression we make by using other muscles instead of those which are paralyzed so this time we develop other wrinkles in those areas.
If you decided to choose Botox treatment, think again or better ask a specialist because side effects can vary from person to person.
