More money than sense

My ambition has always been to have more money than sense. I’ve got 37p so I’m nearly there…. I can’t take credit for that joke, actually; I heard Alexei Sayle tell it in the 1980s but it’s one of my favourite one-liners ever and does some up my attitude towards expensive items. I’m always happy to pay for quality, but refuse to pay over the odds for something when you can buy a product that does the same job for a fraction of the price in a High Street store. I’ve never understood why men buy bespoke business suits when Marks & Spencer’s ones look so good, and I’ve never understood why women spend a small fortune on beauty products when they are no better than the ones on the shelves in Boots.
