Does being pretty make life easier?
For all we strive towards the ideal of equality in this world that we live and work in, it is a generally accepted fact that people who look pretty in certain situations can have easier lives. The amount of times we’ve all seen women get out of trouble by using their looks against the man who has the power is countless, perhaps some of you reading this have even been that woman. So is it true that beautiful people have easier lives? Does this comedy workshop that is life treat the pretty better than the gritty?
Well I think that to a point it does. I generally care about my appearance anyway. I like looking good, and I make an effort to do so. I moisturise, use face peels and think about what I wear before I go out. People do treat me well, and my world is a very happy one. Enough so that I have considered taking it a step further. I did a cosmetic surgery london internet search the other day to look into having surgery done, and looked through the treatments. Whilst they did all really appeal to me, I quickly realised that there was no way I could ever afford to be able to have the kind of treatments I was looking into. Whilst having a face lift may make me feel tons better, it’s the equivalent price of a deposit on a Gloucestershire property. I couldn’t justify it… or could I? If I calculated all the little extra’s I could get by being prettier, or having bigger breasts that could add up over time to quite a lot. All the little discounts that men would give me when I bought things; all the little moments of flirting that I would enjoy; all the extra attention at parties. When I think about all of this all of a sudden I think perhaps it is worthwhile.
One thing is certain, I am fairly sure that being pretty certainly makes my life easier.
